charity begins at home!!

money for charity

I have been approached by people carrying boxes, tubs and bags continuously asking
"please give money for charity, any change" i ask what charity they are collecting for
because they do not have any badge or relevant i.d.
They start to look startled and mumble as they move on to the next vulnerable person.

street beggers

I must walk past 10 street beggers within a day.
They beg for money for food when in fact they intend to use it for drink and drugs.

In fact let me share a personal experience with you that happened to me last month.
I was approached by a seemingly upset girl asking for money because she was hungry. I told her that i didnt have any change with me and that i would take her to the shop and buy her what she wanted to have to eat and drink.

what a cheek!!

Suddenly the tears and upset stop and she was
Shouting "i dont want food just give me the money now"!!

Well for me that was not on what a cheek so i just ignored her and caught my train home.

learning a lesson

By now i had learned a valuable lesson and from then on i only choose to give money to registered charities and unwanted clothes to the heart foundation.

So please dont be a target for these people and stay safe with your hard earned money!!
