How to Gain Respect as a Leader

Being a leader entails responsibility and respect play an important role on being a successful leader. To achieve a common goal, respect to members as well as respect to a leader is vital for the success of every group or organization. This article deals how leaders can gain respect from his team and others.

Leaders know the vision of the team. As the captain of a ship, the leader knows the direction of where things are going to, what are the things to achieve and what is important for the team.

Leaders earn trust from each members. A good leader teach by example and keep his integrity. Recognize each member and show care for them. By opening the communication between them, opinions are recognized and challenges are easily resolved through an interactive discussion. Listening skills of a leader adds on how to gain the respect of members.

Leaders know how to motivate. Give credit to those who deserve to encourage them to work on higher achievements. On the other hand, reprimand in private for those who deserve it and motivate them to do good next time.

Leaders know how to be tough when things go rough. A positive outlook will stimulate and inspire the team not to give up when challenges comes.
