INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

It is axiomatic that human resource are one of
the most valuable assets of every human organization be it public
or private, profit on non-profit. The profitability , success or
failure of any organization, hinges to a large extent on the
quality of its human resources and how well these resource are
harnessed towards productivity. Abdulai reinforces the importance of
human beings in organization thus ; "Without the meanings that are
provided by the human mind, organizations are only piles of stone
and metal.

The importance of human resource in human endeavour
can therefore not be overemphasized , how hum resource management
in a mulitinational company presents a different set of challenges
because human resource management in a multinational company takes
place in an environment created through the interplay of
socio-economic , political and legal settings of the host country, often
new to the Multinational company managers.

This article examine how different human resource
management might be for European Multinational company especially those
from the United Kingdom seeking to enter the Ghanaian market and
also give pointer to human resource practitioners who orientate
European expatraites posted to Ghana.

The first part of this report shall deal with both
general and specific theories under-pinning international human
management of Multinational company's. The second part will draw on
the second part will draw on the theories to discuss the
different and similarities of key factors of human resource
management in both European with emphasis on the United Kingdom and
Ghana.
