Sayaka Ganz seems to enjoy recycling waste materials in order to create inspired artworks, with a passion supported by a genuine belief in the value of resources. Her works are nothing less than breathtaking. This talented young ladsy was born in Japan but grew up in numerous cities all over the world.

Her parents instilled in her the Japanese Shinto philosophy - all objects and organisms are believed to have a spirit and a soul - and from her kindergarten years, Sakaya learned that objects, discarded before their time, weep at night inside the trash bin, as her parents put it.

This very ethos has been both her inspiration and guidance through her artistic journey, creating her own harmony by satisfying her constant need to collect previously used and discarded objects. These, by virtue of her amazing talent and enthusiasm, become transformed into truly incredible animal forms.

The basement of her home and studio is littered with THIRTY plastic bins - all full of coloured and sorted plastic objects of all kinds. Upon finding that she has sufficient of any one colour, she what decides the subject of her next sculpture should be. Every piece she makes is imbued with of a fascinating sense of motion, captivating viewers beautiful art works.

Her inital step is always that of wiring the outlines - studying every different angle before embarking on the enjoyment of the creative process - putting the objects together, however long it takes, or how demanding it is. Her comments are that she sees each new piece as a puzzle, and she ensures that everything is properly aligned to maximize the effect of motion.
She then steps back and adds something else repeatedly until the piece looks completely formed but not overly dense. Her view of her sculptures is that, when observed from a distance, they represent great beauty and harmony, and transmit the messages of hope which she believes she gives to every piece.
