End of Times

The world is ending

The world is coming to an end. With the signs that were predicted long ago happening, the second coming of Christ is near.
It is written that during the last times, people will experience Earthquakes which is happening in almost every continent. This is written well in Mathew 24.7. Mathew 24 shows this signs which are now been seen all around the world. It says that there will be nation rising against nation which is now happening. There will be famines this is happening in Africa.
In verse 5 of Mathew 24 it is written that ‘ “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.’ There are many false prophets especially in Kenya.
In 2 timothy 3 verse 2 to 5 ‘2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.’ This signs are happening.
People know there is a God but they are not giving him the respect he deserves. Watch out Christ is coming soon before you know it.

You Can Survive

Adversity is an extreme situation or difficulty that causes trouble and distress. As long as you live, you will experience some type of adversity. Adversity should help us live a better life, appreciate what you have, and determine where you are going. How do you excel over adversity? Here are four survival strategies for adversity:
1. Don’t become bitter, become better.
2. Be patient, and live one day at a time.
3. Surround yourself with faithful friends who will support, and allow you to express yourself.
4. Love yourself, and focus on your future.
Adversity is a learning point; it allows you to grow from situations that you encounter. It will make you become a better person, and you will be able to encourage someone else from your past experiences

I am puzzled about the purpose of having regular assemblies

The students generally assemble in the forecourts of their schools on certain days, every week. They have to wear proper uniforms. Like a military regiment, regiment, they have to form queues and stand straight. The ritual invariably includes singing of the national anthem and address by the principal to the students. There is also presentation of a wards and some announcements, sermons and warnings. It is often argued that an assembly is a wonderful occasion to know each other and exchange information. Frankly, I hardly find it a place of communication and interaction. On the contrary, it makes one feel like a petty worker among thousands in the assembly line of a factory.

More relevant and interesting

I am puzzled about the purpose of having regular assemblies. In fact, most of the students find it boring, except on some special occasions, like some entertainment shows and magic shows. I would suggest the school authorities to think whether frequent assemblies serve any goal or it just wears out the tender students in the morning for no purpose. Perhaps, some alternative and innovative method of assembly could be evolved that be less cumbersome, more relevant and interesting.

The institution of marriage and the taboos attached with it in deep down conventional Indian society has always captured my attention since childhood. There is a belief in our society - "marriages our made in heaven... " and so every individual reaching a defined age is supposed to get married and that's how the settlement comes into your life. In the society, the last duty that the parents would want to perform from their end would be getting their children settled. Now, how do they do it ? A very simple answer - "finding perfect grooms/bride for their children and getting them married, leading to settlement.." after that their children is supposed to start life on their own. If a child really wants to delay marriage because he/she wants to study further or believes he/she is still not mentally prepared to go for it.. then that person is mentally forced or convinced day and night to get married and settle in life. The belief says getting your children married at the right age and time is very important living in the society else society comment "Parents don't even have the guts to get their children settled or don't want to do it because their children are getting money earned for them especially if it happens to be a Girl Child."

Second important thing attached with this institution of marriage is, exchange between the bride and groom's family in terms of money or any materialistic asset for eg. a house/car, etc. This exchange is most important in the terms that it talks about the ego of groom's family. So, if things offered or the arrangements made by the bride's family are not as per the standards expected surely an argument is bound to happen. This exchange may later even hurt the girl (especially if it happens to be a love marriage as they are still not 100% acceptable)entering the family as she would be cursed on regularly for the things that went wrong or the due respect not paid and the list is on...

The concern here is, when we are running in this 21st century does these two points touched above really matter or can we come out of this social stigma and let our children breathe free. When we talk about technology, adopting brands, going on higher standards of living, broadened mindsets, can we come out of all this and just respect the people who are making a new beginning, let them have their spaces, build their own lives and just work upon as they want to move, because marriage is not the end of life or its not settlement or its just not materialistic exchange rather its a beginning of new life, a new journey where two different individuals get together to share the bond of togetherness till eternity. Its all about Purity, Being United and Loving each other till the beautiful horizon comes to an end.

Let the Love begin, let it happen... let's not break the purity of it by being an obstacle on the way... Let it just flow... !!!

African American Child Terrorism Revisited

Terrorism by any other name is still evil! In March of 2010, I drew attention to the terrorism experienced by many black children across America. Angry adults beat black children with impunity.

Video of an adult African American Male beating two black girls with a cord went viral in less than 24 hours on Facebook and other social media. The girls are daughters of the attacking adult. Their father beats them to the floor and into a corner.

The younger daughter appears to be 10 - 12. The older daughter appears to be in her early teens.

The father's action does not differ in image than the beating black people experienced as slaves 200 years ago. What can be the prompt for this level of uncivilized and nonspiritual behavior in the 21st Century?

Are African American parents predisposed to investment in corporal punishment? Conversations among many African Americans reveal perceptions on child beating ranges from amusing to standard consideration.

In the work, Black Parents & Corporal Punishment: Are You Spanking or Beating, corporal punishment in black families is noted the norm. Black Comedians make sport out of talking about beating their kids. Church folk talk about black kids being bad as if a collective experience.

Historical images of white people beating black people cannot conceivably be the rationale for this behavior.Sparing the rod spoils the child from the Book of Proverbs is not an available excuse for this irrational inhuman behavior.

Angry adults generate angry children. Bullies generate bullies. Fear consumes the weak in search of a place to have power and the exercise of it even more over powerless others. Children are not available for living out of this dangerous and dysfunctional character.

Genevra Pittman reports psychological effects of bullying can last years. Children who experience this extreme form of bullying masquerading as behavioral modification become bullies and are at higher risk to experience anxiety disorders. Child beating is wrong, immoral, illegal, uncivilized and meets no standards for positive child growth and development.

Acts of violence consume the courts. News reports of violence consume the public. Victims of violence pay emotionally over a lifetime. Children should not have to pay this price whatever their color, culture, or religion.

I have had jobs that pay in several fields but to be a volunteer takes a special person. The first time I did volunteer work was at our local childerens hospital it was both a great job and a sad one. Most days were spent visiting and chatting with the parents and kids some would want to play some game yet others were just happy someome was there. Be in a wheelchair I can understand how most of them feel. Every day I visit with new kids you see some childeren were so sick they might not make it to the next day one never knows so in order not to get to close I would only visit someone more often if they ask otherwise I would go on to the next child. One day which turned out to be my last day there it was a summer job anyway, I went to visit this little girl she had something wrong that to this day I can not remember but anyway I went in and told her and her mother who I was she was glad I came I could tell by her smile you that was about all there was left as we talked I noticed some pretty red roses by her bed and just being friendly how alive and pretty they were and her mother spoke up and said yes they are the florist had spraid them with something so they would live a long time, unnecessarily the mother finished the story by saying that the flowers would out live her daughter. I left the room in shock I could believe she said that in front of her little girl, well a week later I saw friend who was a volunteer at the sometime and she told me the little girl passed away just hours after I said bye to her and left her room.

The Church's Role

The Church Is On An Errant Mission

Just what is the Biblically decreed role of the church? That question becomes ever more pertinent as these last days progress. Why? I feel, as do many Christians, that the church in general is embracing a wrong purpose thereby abandoning the Biblical mandate. This evolving errant pursuit of the church poses a great threat to both the church and lost humanity.

What is the errant purpose that the church is embracing? The answer lies in the commandment that Jesus gave to His church - the Great Commission. Jesus Christ, the Head of the church, commanded, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:19-20

The Lord's great commission involves two directives. (1) preach the gospel which will make disciples of Jesus Christ. (2) Teach disciples to follow the commandments of Jesus Christ. That is it! Jesus was not a politician neither did He preach politics. His message and mission was to save the lost. THAT IS TO BE THE SOLE MISSION OF THE CHURCH - the saving of souls.

There is much warning in the Bible of the church forsaking the right way - forsaking the church's divinely decreed mission. Here is a key one.

II Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” The Apostle Paul tells us that a “falling away” will precede the coming of Christ and the appearing of that man of sin - the Antichrist. In fact, it is the church's falling away that paves the way for the Antichrist. What is the “falling away?” It is the abandonment of God's way and truth.

It is my observation that today's church is diverting from its divinely inspired mission to follow a social ministry. Rather than building Christ's church through a gospel ministry churches are tackling the impossible task of reclaiming society - of moralizing society. Increasingly churches are preaching a social gospel in place of Christ's saving gospel. That is not only a hopeless mission it is the wrong mission for the church.

It is difficult to keep this a short piece because so much more could be said about the church's unfortunate changing role in the world. I can only hope to raise the awareness of this growing spiritual dilemma in the church. For those who would like to hear more on this vital subject please GO TO THIS VIDEO.

Tips for Senior Citizens Living Alone

Living by yourself has its advantages, whether it is self-imposed, the result of the death of a spouse or the occurrence known as empty-nest syndrome. Whatever the cause, it is a lifestyle that is often envied by those who have ongoing responsibilities to their loved ones living under the same roof.

Food Purchases

- Indulge yourself at times with a higher-priced food item. It is a small price to pay to achieve that "feel-good" mood. Cooking for one is far less expensive than cooking for two or five.

- At other times, seek out food bargains. Shopping at a low-overhead store will cost you up to half of your grocery bill compared with what you pay at a standard super market.

- You are no doubt accustomed to fixing large casseroles. Don't change. Freeze the leftovers and enjoy your creation two or three times over.

Household Chores

- Your home will be less cluttered and messy when you live alone. Take care to pick up after yourself to avoid having to do a complete overhaul every week.

- Use your dishwasher less often. This will save you time and money. It applies as well to your laundry chores.

- Be alert to the need for small repairs before they turn into larger projects.

- Do the distasteful jobs early in the day. Enjoy the leisure time that results.

Handling of Money

- It is possible that eating out once or twice a week can save you money if you live alone. Food waste at home costs money if you are sometimes forced to buy in bulk. We often have to discard celery, lettuce, fruit, even bread when it lies unused for too long.

- Lunch at a restaurant is far less expensive than dinner. Also, be on the lookout for early-bird specials at establishments that cater to senior citizens. Some fast-food restaurants serve free coffee to seniors. Take advantage of all that is offered.

- If you are retired, your need for new clothes should drop sharply. Stay away from shopping malls where you might be tempted beyond your strength. Avoid impulse buying wherever you may be shopping.

- Avoid using ATM's. The charges for this convenience can be surprising.

- It is prudent to continue building a savings account. Pay yourself first; then an unexpected bill will not cause you anguish.

Safety

- Of course, always make sure your doors are locked before leaving the house or going to bed.

- Avoid the use of ladders for household chores such as washing windows or hanging curtains. Ask a relative or handyman to take care of these more dangerous tasks.

- Make sure that smoke alarms are working. Have your home checked for radon contamination. Have car repairs done in a timely fashion to ward off accidents or inconveniences.

- Stay in contact by phone with relatives and friends. Ask your loved ones to call you frequently to assure themselves of your safety.

Add Excitement to Your Days

- Stay current with local and world news. Be with people.

- Plan your week so that it is filled with a variety of interesting activities; go to the movies, have lunch with friends, take a day trip to a nearby area you have wanted to visit, become a volunteer.

- Begin a new hobby - painting, dancing, glee club singing, swimming, reading, writing, photography. The advantages to your brain are self-evident.

Enjoy all that life has to offer. You now have the time to make choices about how you want to spend your days. Go for it!

How to Have a Great First Date

Going on a first date is like going on a job interview. You want to make a good first impression, and you hope you'll get called back. Here are some tips on how to have a great first date.
Sure, you do want to dress up more than usual and look your best. But don't overdo it. Women should go light on the makeup. Both men and women should go easy on the perfume or cologne. So many people are allergic to scents these days. So use a little scent or none at all.
Don't be too casual. Depending on where you going, you may want to wear jeans. That's OK; just make sure they're not ripped. Be sure to wear a nice shirt or blouse if you do wear jeans. Avoid t-shirts if you want to make a good impression on your date.
Being nervous is natural. Take a few deep breaths before you meet your date. Remember, he or she is probably just as nervous as you are.
If you're known for your sense of humor, use it. Laughter can help dispel the tension and break the ice.
Be on time. Don't keep the other person waiting. Not only is this rude but it's also annoying. Being late is no way to start a great first date.

Do Something Fun

The more active and fun your first date is, the more likely both of you are to stay relaxed and have a great first date. Try dancing, bowling, miniature golfing or taking a short hike or walk. If you play a sport such as tennis, you may want to meet your new date on the tennis court. Or head to a driving range and see how far you can hit a golf ball.

The first date is not the time to talk about how your parents got divorced when you were 10 years old, how you had to have surgery on your kidney last year or how you kicked your drinking problem. Honesty is important in relationships. But revealing too many personal details too soon will only scare the other person away.
Don't be too negative. Don't complain about the weather, the slow service at the restaurant or how much you hate your boss. Keep a positive attitude.

A LIFE CHANGING JOURNEY

That isolated pocket of the island.

The year 2000 marks a beginning and and end in my lifestyle. My mother had passed away five years back. I had achieved to overcome the worst part of my berevement, but my spirits were not as high as they were. I needed to do something.

I've always liked travelling to know other places, people and their own lifestyles and customs. A stay in another country was what I needed. Therefore, I started to search for a job somewhere else where I could have a fresh and new start, but above all that let me have past and tragic experiences far behind.

After several searches and job application forms, I achieved to get one in West Cork. I barely knew Ireland, except for few holidays I had had in the Green Isle, but I thought that it was going to be interesting to work and to live there for some time.

During the first months, I was delighted at having found that isolated pocket in Inchydoney Island. I didn't mind having a job that was well under my qualifications and skills so long as I could have a good experience in my life that allowed me to forget past and bitter experiences.

I didn't mind the perennial rain or the changeable weather nor living in a rural environment when I had always being a urban person.

As times rolled on, I could see a change on my moods and looks. When I looked myself in the mirror, I saw a relaxed and more attractive face. So, the change proved good.

I never intended to stay there this long, because I know welll that if one goes to another country, one shouldn't stay long unless one plans to settle in there since the very beginning. Otherwise, on returning back home, one will feel as a complete outsider with no links or friendships anymore.

However, I stayed there for ten years because of a personal problem, but I did things so as to use my time wisely.

I walked a lot and I watched stunning and unspoilt landscape that I know I'll never forget. I did take part in whatever event or activity I found, but the most important was that I developed my writing career on different ways.

Bantry town on the West Cork coastline is a beautiful spot, but when the Chamber Music festival and the literary one are on, it is a joy.

I never missed out any of these two festivals, but very especially the literary one, and it became my summery rendez-vous every year, if only for my two days off.

How grand it was being iin such stunning spot writing and sharing with other writing peeers! I was never able to spend the whole of the week to take part in any of the long week writing workshops, but this is something that I'll do some time soon.

In the year 2010, I had to return to, as I said, meet the old things. Yet, and as an Irish friend said to me, "Try to turn the old things into something new!"

So, I did. No regrets at having had to leave what for me was sort of paradise that prompts creative leanings. I don't care if on these days I'm alone, because those who once were friends don't want to be friends anymore. New ones will come up. Meanwhile, as I did in Ireland, I sit at my desk to write a new piece to submit. I still think that writing is my big aim and I wish to earn my living with it, if only modestly.

Life isn't bad or good. It's only what we want it to be by tackling on moves and changes when we need to.

Christian moral

In many parts of this mortal world, when Christians belonging to minority groups within a society, not surprisingly, always pressed to conform to the applicable measures of the community. While the constant pressure on everyone to erode their moral standards. Meanwhile, the adjustment to the moral standards of the world means against holiness. How exactly they should be?

Christians are commanded to be another world. This command can be understood by the counsel of Paul in Romans 12:1-2, thus: "Therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God I advise you, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-and this is reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so you can distinguish Which will of God: what good are pleasing to God and perfect ". The core of this advice is to maintain holiness.

On the one hand, Christians should live in obedience to God and should not be ruled by lust. On the other hand, Christians also have to have a moral standard that is divine holiness and conformity to Christ. (Philippians 2:5 and 8), saying, "Be with you in your life, put your thoughts and feelings are also in Christ Jesus. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient sampat death, even death on a cross ".

We realize that it is not easy to prevent any impure thoughts penetrate into our minds. But we do control our minds that live in our minds and develop. God gave us the streets through which we can develop a pure mind and our thought life in general, because we have Christ "be transformed by the renewing of your mind". Renewal is an ongoing process and repeated continuously. Victory is achieved today does not guarantee that we can win the battle tomorrow. To control our thoughts, then we have to fill our minds with things that are true. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is unpleasant to hear, all that is excellent or praiseworthy, think on these things".

The most effective means to charge and control the mind is to memorize Bible verses (Word of God). While we memorize the various parts of the Bible, our thoughts will turn to Him when we have trials. Therefore, as a Christian man is qualified are required to live in obedience to God and should not be ruled by lust and has a moral standard that is divine and holy life be like Christ.

"Deadbeat" dad, my story

The Deadbeat dad

There are two types of divorced fathers. The ones who support their children and the Deadbeat dads.

This article is about one particular deadbeat dad, myself. I have read about divorces and the messy divorces is about a lot of things but sometimes a "messy" divorce hurts the children. Fortunately my divorce was not messy like the Recent Santa Monica Killer who was a child from a "messy" divorce. Let me say that no divorce is thoroughly planned.

My daughters had not a step dad but extended family. They had a father figure in my brother in law and also help from their grandmother. My ex wife and I were not perfect but it was fortunate for them to have a great family backup. It was not easy for my ex wife to provide for her family and yes she got some money help from my brother. But basically no financial help from myself and no family visits by myself to the daughters.

There is one school of thought where the father should have visitation rights but doesn't that send mixed signals to the children? A father that disappears may or may not be better depending on the case. Most children wish that their parents do get back together.

The signals was that we were never to be getting back together. I am glad my ex wife has a relationship with someone else. But what about the kids?

This is not rationalizing but some observations. My two daughters became professionals (one an engineer and the other a doctor). One is married and this year the doctor is getting married. I did not attend the wedding of the first to be married but I also realize I have no role in giving the bride away.

The second daughter I also have no role in giving her away. (yes I already have done so in a way). I can only pat myself on the back for not being a jerk or douchebag in the divorce. Good luck my daughters, may life spare you the choice of divorce.
