Shooting Injured At Least 19 People at the Mother's Day Parade, New Orleans
The Mother's Day is a very important day that is celebrated on the second Sunday of May in the United States. This day is intended to celebrate and applaud all the mothers. This year, the Mother’s Day was celebrated in the 12th of May and in New Orleans a parade took place, which is something usual in order to celebrate the day. In such a festive atmosphere nobody was expecting a crime to happen.
Unfortunately, various armed persons opened fire and injured at least 19 people, fortunately, there were no casualties and very few people were seriously injured. What we know so far is that three people were seen running away from the locale where the shooting happened; one of the three suspects was described as an 18 – 22 year-old. According to the local police, at least two different types of weapons were used.
A man and a woman were hospitalized and are currently under surgery. A ten year-old boy and girl were injured, but happily they are fine. Happily the outcome of this shocking crime was relatively positive, but the outcome could be a lot worse. With the recent fight for gun control in the U.S. a question remains: what will be the political or society changes if more cases like this continue to increase?
