Cook the Rice, Already!

“Talk doesn’t cook rice” – Chinese Proverb

Just as Mother Nature cycles through her seasons, it’s human nature to do cycle through a few as well. Right now I am definitely in my Spring Season – My plant, plant, plant, season. I’ve had days of reaping, days of harvest, and long days of waiting and hibernation.

But now, I’m ready to do the hard work of readying the soil and planting. One of the resources I’m leaning on these days is a book called “Getting Things Done” by David Allen. The practical wisdom found in this guide is immediately actionable. I’ve implemented many of his ideas and am already seeing the benefits.

I’m a force to be reckoned with or a tour de force but either way, like all great forces in nature, I run pretty unmanageable and out of control. A great business coach of mine says I have a lot of talent and energy if there were just some way to channel it. I agree, although I like the word “Focused” better – and David Allen’s systems really work towards that – focusing.

If you suffer from a lot of want-to and struggle with the doing – I highly recommend this resource. Allen's systems are readily available and affordable. They’ve already gone a long way towards organizing this tornado of thoughts and possibilities.

Isn't it time to cook some rice?
