How to save on your Water and Electricity Bill

Electricity

There is no time like the summer time to start looking into ways to save money on your water and electricity bill. If you’re like me and can’t stand paying a lot of money to those high priced electric companies, then let me tell you a few ways to shorten the cost.

First the water, there is a couple of ways to shorten the water bill. One is trash the old school heavy duty hot water heater. To replace it you can get a tankless water heater installed, uses less electricity and is more efficient to have. Another way to save on the water bill is to open the back of your toilet, fill up a 1 liter water bottle and sit it in the clear corner area. Also if you want to save even more money on your water bill, you can always inspect your water piping for leaks. Leaks may be small, but every drop adds up. A couple of nights means not just cups of water, it means gallons of water, that slowly ticks your gallon meter to the next gallon, so the guys that come out in your yard all the time must love your house.

To save on electricity and cut down on the bill means to either put more money into your pocket or put it toward something more important. One way to save on electricity is to get solar panels installed on the roof and routed into the electric grid by a professional electrician. That is a costly way to save, but in the long run you’ll save more than you spent to purchase materials. During hot summer days, you can cut down on the cooling in your home by installing solar backed curtains on the windows that the sun beams through. Cloth curtains only block a small percentage of heat.

Thanks
