Low Paying Job
I am in the mental health field. That being said, I can't divulge to much information, as I am under a strict confidentiality clause. What I can say, however, is that some days are wonderful...some days are just awful. I do direct care in the field, and sometimes it can be very difficult to handle. This would be much easier to accept if the pay rate was higher. This is one of the most underpaid industries that exists. I feel it is a very rewarding job, and I know for sure we make a profounddifference in the lives of the people we serve. For many of them, we are the only family they know. It can be very sad at times. As far as pay goes, the company I work for does not do raises of any kind. That is very discouraging, considering I have been in this industry for many years. I feel that I do my job above and beyond what is expected of me. I am always on time, and always there when scheduled. I don't really know how to get around the paying issue. I just don't earn enough to take care if all that is to be taken care of each month. Hopefully, in time, something will happen to allow the company to deal with this issue.
